Dear Parents/Carers and Prospective Parents/Carers

We hope your child will enjoy their time at Oldbury Court and achieve their potential in a happy and friendly environment.

As a primary school we are delighted to be able to watch children as they grow and move through the school from Reception to year 6. We pride ourselves on having a friendly welcoming atmosphere and a personal knowledge of every child which helps us celebrate and recognise their many successes both at home and at school.

We have an excellent team of teaching and support staff who are committed to enabling children to achieve in every way. We seek to continually improve as a school at the same time as allowing each individual child to do the same.

We believe strongly in the importance of an education which provides the essential basic skills for every child in reading, writing and mathematics. Alongside these crucial requirements which underpin every child's success, we value creativity and personal development.

We believe that children achieve best when they have access to a broad balanced curriculum and that this provides the best preparation for life beyond the Primary School. We have recently revised our curriculum to make it more interesting and relevant for our children and are delighted with the enthusiastic response that our learners have shown.

We recognise and value the crucial role that parents and carers have in educating their child/children. We provide many opportunities for parents and carers  to join us to share learning and support your child/children during the school year.

Oldbury Court Primary School is a friendly welcoming school where we do all we can to make sure your child/children is happy, listened to, valued and supported. We welcome visitors and are always pleased to 'show off' the high standards of teaching, displays, behaviour and attitudes in our school. You are welcome to visit at any time or join us for our Open Days when there are opportunites to find out more about some of the things we learning.

School Meals

School Meals £2.10 from September 2009

Eden ’s priority is to offer and promote healthy eating for children with a range of tasty menus. Menus are balanced across the week in order to provide all the nutrients the pupils need. One of their greatest skills is putting together favourite recipes that contain lots of “hidden” healthy ingredients such as vegetables, fruit, pulses, oats, fortified cereals and whole grains.

Bottled water is also on sale and children may keep bottled water on their table to drink when they need to during the day. Breakfast club is open each morning

ensuing our children have a healthy start to the day 8am-8.30am

Government Programme

The School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme is a government programme that

entitles every child aged four to six in LEA-maintained schools to a free piece

of fruit or vegetable each school day. It was introduced after the NHS Plan,

launched in 2000, included a commitment to implement a national school fruit

scheme by 2004.
